Rain may have forced us indoors, but it didn’t put a damper on DPNCHC’s 30th anniversary celebrations!
The day began with a tasty meal of samosas and pakoras from Dosa Mahal and vegetables from the Stop Community Food Centre. Then we headed to Perth Hall to watch an energetic dance performance from Bailando Forever choreographers Luis Flores, Linda Reyes and Ischel.
After hearing from our past Executive Directors Ruth Crammond and Keith McNair, our MPP Cristina Martins presented the Centre with a certificate to acknowledge our 30 years of work in the community. Next up was our MP Andrew Cash, who spoke about the strength of the Davenport community, and serenaded the crowd with a sing-along version of “Sweet Caroline.”
The crowd kept moving with a mini Zumba class from our seniors fitness instructor Monica Beltrame, while others split off to play ping pong, Jenga, and take a whack at the pinata.
Thank you to everyone who attended, and who made our 30th anniversary event such a success!
